Info
In today’s photo, we can see the Milky Way peeking between light beams of the Westerheversand Lighthouse in Germany. The cast-iron lighthouse is more than a century old. Flanked by a pair of lighthouse-keeper cottages and surrounded by green fields, it rises 40 metres over the tidelands of the Wadden Sea, which forms the world's largest tidal flat along the Dutch, German and Danish coasts. The red-and-white striped tower is open to visitors and has 157 steps. It is a popular landmark in Schleswig-Holstein, the northernmost of the 16 states of Germany.
