Info
This roe deer is doing a good job blending in with its surroundings in northern Germany. A small species of deer, it can be found across parts of Europe and Asia. It prefers woodlands, but it will go out into open fields and farmland to feed. The appearance of the deer changes during the year. It is mostly brown in colour, turning reddish in the summer and darker grey in the winter. A male roe deer, like the one in our photo, is called a 'buck', and the female is known as a 'doe'. Adult males have small antlers with up to three points, which they shed and regrow each year.
