Keeping it regal

Since 1993, Buckingham Palace—the King's official London residence—has been welcoming visitors during the summer months. This is because the monarch is usually away, making it the perfect time to get a glimpse into the regal lifestyle. The tours, which started this year on July 11 and will end on September 29, include access to 19 State Rooms that are used for official functions and events. The Throne Room, where numerous ceremonies have taken place—like investitures and formal wedding photographs—and the Grand Staircase are also on the list. These rooms are decorated with treasures from the Royal Collection, which boasts works by some of the most celebrated artists in history, including Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto.
