Spectacular views below!

Our homepage image features one of the world’s largest glass sightseeing platforms, jutting out nearly 108ft (33m) over the edge of Shilinxia Scenic Area, China’s ‘stone forest gorge’. Sitting roughly 1,300ft (396m) above the valley floor, those brave enough to venture out can look down through glass into the rugged sandstone rocks and forest of the protected gorge below. It’s not for the faint-hearted and has been known to sway a bit in the wind but the platform, built in 2016, is reinforced by titanium alloys for maximum safety. It is so high up, visitors can also get a glimpse of some other local landmarks from here, including the nearby Huangsongyu reservoir, Diaowo Village, and the Shilin River.
