What does the fox dream?
Don’t be fooled by their cuteness, these little furballs can be ferocious hunters. In fact, the Arctic fox is one of the most prolific predators on the tundra, preying on lemmings, voles, rabbits, birds (often with a side helping of eggs) and other small creatures that cross their path. But right now, our Arctic fox is happy to curl up with its tail and get some sleep. By forming a ball, the fox is reducing the amount of its body that is exposed to cold air, helping to conserve heat, no matter how low temperatures drop.
