A gem in the Rockies

Among the many gems within Banff National Park, sits the spectacular Johnston Canyon. It is known for its breathtaking canyons that have been carved out over time by erosion from the waterfalls. Easily accessible, Johnston Canyon offers trails to the Lower Falls and the Upper Falls. The latter is a relatively strenuous hike that houses ink pots – the seven pools of mineral springs which are striking green in colour. Alongside all of this natural beauty, Johnston Canyon is a popular spot for bird-watching and is home to the vulnerable black swift bird.
