An isolated peak standing tall
Standing 2,785 metres tall, the Crowsnest Mountain symbolizes the beauty of Crowsnest Pass in Alberta. As a klippe of the Lewis Thrust Sheet, this mountain features unique rock formations at its peak and its base. The base consists of the younger Cretaceous rock while the top comprises of limestones from Mississippian and Devonian periods. Crowsnest Mountain can distinctly be spotted from a distance as it is the only peak in the area. It was scaled for the first time in 1915 through a scrambling route.
