A winter delicacy
Maple syrup and snow is all it takes to make this sweet winter delicacy known as the maple taffy. Despite just the two ingredients, this sugary treat has a complex process behind it. To get fresh maple syrup, the sap is first collected by tapping maple trees. This process typically takes place between February and March. The sap is then boiled for hours and cooled a bit to get to the syrupy form. It can then be served on snow or crushed ice and wrapped around a stick for consumption. The best part about maple taffy is, it can be hot and cold all at once.
