In case you’re wondering who this expert poser is, it is none other than the snowy owl. They are among Canada’s most distinguishable owls due to their appearance, which lives up to their namesake. Snowy owls are large in size with bulky bodies. Their legs are handsomely covered in feathers, further making them appear big. They can be spotted in open areas near the ground or on fenceposts. Since these birds have a powerful sense of distance, they excel in diving in a timely manner to catch their prey. Snowy Owls live on a diet consisting of seabirds, arctic hares, and foxes.
