Chick-a-dee-dee-dee

Measuring about 13 centimetres from the beak to its tail, black-capped chicakadees are nonmigratory birds that can be spotted in woodlands throughout North America. They tend to forage in flocks and feed on seeds, berries and insects. Come spring time, the group splits up to guard their individual breeding grounds. Black-capped chickadees produce a range of calls and as the name suggests, both male and female produce the ‘chick-a-dee-dee-dee’ call.
