A rodeo, a festival, and an exhibition
Dubbed as ‘The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth,’ the Calgary Stampede is back in action with its world-famous rodeo. The parade kicks off today and will travel to Stampede Park before it opens to the public. Attendees can typically experience numerous events ranging from bull riding and barrel racing to steer wrestling and tie-down roping. Given the on-going pandemic, the event this year will include fewer attractions while maintaining physical distancing and reduced capacity at the various venues. To celebrate Alberta’s spirit amid COVID-19, this year, fireworks displays will be held simultaneously in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge.
