Incense making, Vietnam

Today we’re visiting the village of Quảng Phú Cầu in Ứng Hòa district, Vietnam. The colourful village is famous for making incense. Craftspeople have produced the bright, aromatic sticks here for centuries. Incense is used both in places of worship and on altars in family homes. It's a local tradition that goes back hundreds of years. The bright orange, pink and crimson incense sticks are made from bamboo shavings hand-dipped in spiced and dyed paste. They're then dried before being sold in Vietnam and other countries. The industry provides incomes for nearly 3,000 households.
